Well practised it is a powerful aid to addressing many diverse health problems. Sandy Sandaver practises an integrated form of acupuncture encompassing Five Element Constitutional Diagnosis and Traditional Chinese Medicine (also known as TCM). Chinese Medicine treats illnesses as an imbalance of the body’s energy or Qi (pronounced Chi). Qi, or energy runs throughout the body through a series of pathways or meridians closely related to the nervous and vascular systems. When the Qi flows strongly, the body is at its best and most efficient. When it is weak, or the meridian lines are blocked at certain points, then the body sickens. Many people have acupuncture as a preventative treatment or because they feel below par but are not ‘ill’ in the Western medicine sense.
